Don Phillipson

Secretary of the Colorado state association from 1970 to 1978 and a vice president of the United States Soccer Federation from 1975 to 1977.

Phillipson was a lawyer who first became involved with the Colorado state association though serving as a legal advisor to it in the 1960s. During his years as secretary of the Colorado association, Phillipson completely revised the structure and operation of the organization, particularly in the area of communication between the association and the state’s teams and players. He worked in the same area at the national level, and was involved in instituting the USSF’s National Referee Development Program.

Inducted in 1987.
