AMERICAN SOCCER LEAGUE II - NEW ENGLAND DIVISION
The second American Soccer League established a New England-based division which
operated between 1933 and 1941. During this time, the established teams of the
league (based in New york-New Jersey-Philadelphia) played in the Metropolitan
Division. The New England Division folded during the War and was briefly
reestablished in 1951-1953. Little is known about the divisions, and the second
incarnation was borderline at best. Many thanks to Mark Pollak for
providing this information, which he gathered from various editions of the USSFA
annual media guides and the Providence Journal, and the 1951-1953 information
was gathered from editions of the North American Soccer Guide.
