Philip “Phil” Slone

A midfielder who was a member of the United States squad at the 1930 World Cup in Uruguay.

Slone had begun his American Soccer League career in 1929 with the New York Giants. After returning from the 1930 World Cup, he played for Hakoah in the ASL until the end of the original ASL in 1931. He then played for Brookhattan in the second ASL throughout the 1930s, and also was a guest player on a Mexican tour by the New York Americans in 1935. He played one full international for the United States, a friendly against Brazil during the United States team’s trip home from the World Cup in 1930.
