Enzo DeLuca

One of the founders of both the Italian-American Soccer League of New York and the Italian-American Soccer League of New Jersey in the 1950s.

DeLuca, who was born in Italy, was involved in organizing several Jersey City teams in the late 1940s. He later participated in the New Jersey State League as a player, as a manager and as a referee. A lot of DeLuca’s soccer activity involved writing. He was a sports correspondent for Il Progresso, the Italian-language daily newspaper in New York and wrote an Italian-langugage book, titled Soccer in the USA, in 1962.

Inducted in 1979.
