Fred Netto

President of the United States Soccer Football Association from 1950 to 1952.

Netto’s work with the USSFA included serving as a member of the United States delegations at the 1948 Olympic Games in London, the World Cup qualifying tournament in 1949 in Mexico City and the 1950 World Cup in Brazil. He had been secretary of the Illinois Soccer Commission beginning in 1939, and was elected a vice president of the USSFA in 1945.

Netto, who was born in Germany and came to the United States as a teenager, had been an amateur player in Chicago in the 1920s and ’30s.
