Giuseppe Lombardo

A leader of Italian-American soccer activities in New York.

Lombardo, who was born in Italy and moved to America in 1947, founded the Brooklyn Italians soccer club in 1949. He was secretary of that club from 1951 to 1954 and then from 1957 to 1972, serving as president of it during the interim between those two stints as secretary.

He helped to found the Italian-American Soccer League of New York in 1958, and later served as an official of the National Soccer League of New York from 1967 to 1972 and the Southern New York state association from 1969 to 1984.
