James Moore

A St. Louis referee and administrator in the 1940s and ’50s.

Moore refereed in St. Louis-area leagues for 17 years after retiring as a player in 1939, rising through the ranks of the St. Louis Referees Association to become its president. After some years of serving as a delegate to the Missouri Soccer Commission, he eventually became chairman of that organization, and represented it at USSFA conventions 20 times. He was involved in the formation of the St. Louis Major League in 1947.

Inducted in 1971.
