A St. Louis soccer official who organized and managed several leading teams in the 1930s and 1940s.
Marre, who was credited with helping to keep the sport alive and moving in St. Louis during the Depression years, ultimately organized and managed his own teams, the Marres and the Tablers. He was a member of the Missouri state soccer commission for more than 10 years and also served on the National Cup Committee. He earlier had played for the St. Leo’s team during the years that it dominated St. Louis soccer in the early 20th century.
