Glenn “Mooch” Myernick

A North American Soccer League and U.S. national-team defender who went on to become successful coach.

Myernick, who died at the age of 51, and thus had a somewhat abbreviated coaching career, played eight seasons in the NASL. He played a total of 168 games for the Dallas Tornado, Portland Timbers and Tampa Bay Rowdies. He appeared in the U.S. national team 10 times.

Myernick was coach of the Colorado Rockies in Major League Soccer for four years, and was an assistant coach of the United States teams at the 2002 and 2006 World Cups.
