Efrain “Chico” Chacurian.

A forward who played in both the American Soccer League and the German-American Soccer League after emigrating from Argentina in 1947.

Chachurian played one season with Brooklyn Hispano of the ASL, with whom he signed in 1949, but the bulk of his career was with New York Swiss of the GASL, where he played from 1950 to 1958.. Earlier, he had played for Armenians of New York’s Eastern District League from 1947 to 1949, and after leaving New York Swiss, played for Bridgeport City in Connecticut.

He played four games for the United States national team in 1953 and 1954, including three World Cup qualifiers against Mexico and Haiti in 1954.

Following his playing career, he coached several teams in Connecticut, including Southern Connecticut State, Yale University, and the Bridgeport Vasco da Gama club that reached the U.S. Open Cup final in 1978.
