Don Greer

Chairman of the United States Youth Soccer Association from 1974 to 1984 after having been one of the founders of that organization in 1974.

During Greer’s decade as USYSA chairman, that organization launched the McGuire Cup, the Olympic Development  Program and regional youth programs for state associations. Its number of participating players grew from 32,000 to more than 1.3 million.

Greer, who was born in update New York , grew up in England and returned to the United States in 1946. He was one of the founders of the California Youth Soccer Association, which he served as its president from 1968 until 1975. He also was an official of the California State Soccer Association-North from 1962 to 1974 and a vice president of the USSFA and USSF from 1972 to 1984.
