Frank “Sarge” Kracher

A longtime Illinois soccer official.

Kracher served in a variety of administrative positions with the National Soccer League of Chicago, the Illinois state soccer association, the United States Soccer Football Association/United States Soccer Federation, and the Chicago Mustangs and Chicago Sting of the NASL. His work as a Chicago city police officer included heavy involvement with arrangements for the 1959 Pan-American Games, which were held in Chicago, and the visits to Chicago of numerous touring foreign teams. He was chairman of the USSF’s National Soccer Hall of Fame Selection Committee from 1995 to 1999.
