Jack Johnston

A referee at a high level of Chicago soccer, handling both local and national games, from 1919 to 1939.

Johnston was born in Scotland and emigrated to America in 1904. The highlight of his refereeing career came in 1931 when he handled the second leg of the U.S. Open Cup final between Chicago Bricklayers and the Fall River Marksmen. For many years he was a soccer correspondent for the Chicago Tribune.

Inducted in 1952.
