William Morrissette

An administrator in southern New England from the 1940s to the 1970s.

Morrissette was secretary of the Southern New England Soccer Football Association beginning in 1949 and was a national cup commissioner for the USSFA. He served as vice president and treasurer of the Fall River District Soccer league, and as secretary-treasurer of the Inter-State Soccer League.

In the early 1960s, Morrissette was involved in the founding the New England Soccer League, which brought together top teams from the Fall River-New Bedford area, the Boston area, northern Massachusetts and southern New Hampshire. After that league began play in 1962, he served as its secretary-treasurer and public relations director.
