William Palmer

The secretary of the Eastern Pennsylvania state association from 1914 until his death in the early 1940s.

Palmer, who was born in England and emigrated to the United States in 1908, also served for many years as secretary of Philadelphia’s Allied Amateur Cup tournament and on various committees of the United States Football Association. He was chairman of the USFA’s finances committee.

Palmer had gotten involved with the Eastern Pennsylvania association as a result of serving as a delegate to that organization from the Allied League of Philadelphia, of which he was a vice president.

Inducted in 1952.
