A forward who played for a string of champion teams in the Pittsburgh area and was a member of the United States squad at the 1950 World Cup.
DiOrio starred in the Morgan-Strasser team that won the U.S. Open Cup in 1949 and the Harmarville team that won it in 1952. The teams he played for reached the final of the National Amateur Cup four teams, Morgan in 1942 and 1944, and Harmarville in 1950 and 1951, and won titles in the Keystone League of Western Pennsylvania five times.
DiOrio played in both seasons of the North American Soccer Football League, in 1946 for the Pittsburgh Indians and 1947 for the Chicago Vikings.
