Robert “Bobby” Morrison

A midfielder who was one of the early stars of the Bethlehem Steel team.

Morrison, who was a junior international in Scotland before immigrating to the U.S. in 1910, first played for Philadelphia’s Tacony FC, winning the American Football Association Cup with them that year. Played for Bethlehem from 1913 to 1918, during the years when it changed from an amateur team to a professional one and rose from local to national prominence, before his career was ended early by an injury. He was a member of the Bethlehem teams that won U.S. Open Cup titles in 1915 and 1916, and American Football Association Cup titles in 1914, 1916 and 1917, as well as league titles in several different years.
