The Society for American Soccer History is pleased to announce the 2026 Symposium will be held online (via Zoom) on Friday, December 4th, 2026.
We welcome proposals for presentations in PechaKucha format (20 PowerPoint slides [no more than 40 words each] for exactly 20 seconds per slide, or a total of 6 minutes and 40 seconds).
Proposals on any aspect relevant to the study of American soccer history are welcome from SASH members.
Proposals that summarize research activities related to the 2026 FIFA Men’s World Cup and/or the 2027 FIFA Women’s World Cup are of special interest.
Undergraduate and graduate students are especially encouraged to propose presentations.
Guidance will be provided for presenters unfamiliar with the PechaKucha format.
Abstracts for proposed presentations should be no more than 250 words in length and describe the topic/thesis, relevant methodology or evidence (if applicable) and contain the author’s contact information.
The deadline for submission of presentation proposals is Friday, October 30th.
Decisions will be reached by November 6th.
Submission of the final PowerPoint deck of slides will be due Friday, November 27th.
All presenters must be current members of SASH. To join SASH or renew your membership visit https://www.ussoccerhistory.org/store/sash-membership-one-year/
